When the year of the tiger approaches, Chao Yang, Zhang Chen, and Zhu Xuguang utilize porcelain as a canvas to express traditional Chinese cultural symbols and internationalist design styles. Drawing inspiration from the tiger's significance in Chinese folklore and art, the designers skillfully incorporate elements such as the tiger symbol of the Han Dynasty, "tiger" calligraphy, and various "tiger" characters. The result is a harmonious blend of traditional Chinese culture and contemporary design.
The Tiger 2022 collection is crafted using the renowned blue and white porcelain technique of Jingdezhen, a city known for its exquisite ceramic craftsmanship. Each piece is meticulously handmade and fired at 1300 degrees, ensuring the highest level of quality and durability. The designers' attention to detail and commitment to artistic expression make every item in the collection a unique work of art.
Featuring a range of tableware, including cups, teapots, plates, and coffee cups, the Tiger 2022 collection offers a complete dining experience. The cup measures 80mm in length, 80mm in depth, and 95mm in height, while the teapot boasts dimensions of 70mm in length, 70mm in depth, and 100mm in height. The large plate spans 300mm in length, the medium plate measures 250mm, and the small plate is 200mm in length. For coffee lovers, the coffee cup measures 65mm in length, 65mm in depth, and 70mm in height, while the coffee dish is 135mm in length and depth.
Creating the Tiger 2022 collection presented its fair share of challenges. The designers aimed to extract the essence of Chinese traditional culture and visually represent it through ceramic techniques. They successfully bridged the gap between Eastern and Western cultures, offering a fresh perspective on the Chinese zodiac ceramics of 2022. The result is a collection that not only honors tradition but also embraces modern design concepts and aesthetic fashion.
The Tiger 2022 collection was brought to life in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi Province, during a project that spanned from June to December 2021. The designers dedicated extensive research to understand the cultural significance of tigers in Chinese folklore and art. This in-depth exploration allowed them to create a collection that not only captures the spirit of the tiger but also tells a story of cultural exchange and artistic innovation.
The exceptional design and craftsmanship of the Tiger 2022 collection have been recognized with the prestigious A' Design Award. This accolade acknowledges the collection's well-designed, practical, and innovative nature, meeting the highest professional and industrial standards. The Tiger 2022 collection stands as a testament to the designers' commitment to excellence and their contribution to the world of art and design.
